Healing through connection

A lot can be accomplished just by letting the beliefs that live in the dark nooks and crannies of your mind out into the light of day. Sometimes you might even discover not all of those thoughts are that helpful or even accurate.

We all have to face a variety of emotional experiences to live a full life. Some are not too fun but I truly believe we all have the ability to tolerate a full spectrum of feelings. Just… sometimes we need help.

In my office, I encourage my clients to slowly build up to approaching thoughts and feelings they may have spent a lifetime avoiding. Avoidance strategies, after all, are typically what become so overwhelming and cumbersome that people become stuck. Change is hard and avoidance has worked but eventually, most of us find that avoidance has more consequences than benefits.

Every person brings a unique story, set of challenges, and goals to therapy. That's why I tailor my approach to the individual rather than relying on a single method. With more than 20 years of experience, I draw from a broad range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), somatic therapies, and other proven modalities. My focus isn't on the acronyms—it's on using the right tools at the right time while building a compassionate, collaborative relationship that supports meaningful and lasting growth.

I am an anti-diet therapist. I believe in Health At Every Size (HAES) and encourage my clients to eat intuitively. Trying to shrink your body is part of the avoidance I was mentioning earlier…
